Ingredients

- 2 cups cooked black beans (drained and rinsed)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Mash the black beans in a large bowl until mostly smooth.
- Add breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, egg, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and firm.
- Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For a firmer texture, refrigerate the patties for 30 minutes before cooking.
- You can grill these burgers instead of pan-frying.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
