Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses, mixing well.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  5. Shape dough into 1-inch balls, roll in coarse sugar, and place on baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are set. Cool on wire racks.
