Chao Ga is a comforting Vietnamese chicken and rice porridge, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 2 chicken
  • 1 inch ginger, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until clear.
  2. In a pot, bring chicken broth to a boil.
  3. Add rice, ginger, and garlic. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Add chicken and cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove chicken, shred it, then return to the pot.
  6. Stir in fish sauce, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for 5 more minutes.
  8. Garnish with green onions and cilantro.
