Description
Chao Ga is a comforting Vietnamese chicken and rice porridge, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients

- 1 cup jasmine rice
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 chicken
- 1 inch ginger, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until clear.
- In a pot, bring chicken broth to a boil.
- Add rice, ginger, and garlic. Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Add chicken and cook for 15 minutes.
- Remove chicken, shred it, then return to the pot.
- Stir in fish sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 5 more minutes.
- Garnish with green onions and cilantro.

- Use leftover chicken for quicker prep.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve with lime wedges for extra flavor.
