A fun and stylish cake decorated with a cheetah print heart design.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Black and orange food coloring
  • 2 cups buttercream frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a heart-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Slowly stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely before decorating.
  7. Divide buttercream into two bowls. Color one black and the other orange.
  8. Frost the cake with a base layer of white buttercream.
  9. Use a piping bag to create cheetah print spots with black and orange frosting.
  10. Serve and enjoy.

  • Chill the cake before frosting for easier handling.
