Ingredients

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until softened.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to the crockpot.
  4. Add the kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, chilli powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and beef broth to the crockpot.
  5. Stir well to combine.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a chopped jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
