Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, coat chicken pieces with cornstarch, then dip in beaten eggs.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden and crispy, about 5-6 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In a separate pan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Add fried chicken to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Garnish with orange zest and green onions. Serve hot with rice.
