Description

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Heat the water, butter, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Remove the pan from heat. Stir in the flour and vanilla until a thick dough forms.
- Let the dough cool for a few minutes. Transfer it to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Heat the oil in a deep pan to 350 degrees F. Pipe small strips of dough into the hot oil. Use scissors to cut them off.
- Fry the poppers until they turn golden brown. Remove them and drain on paper towels.
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the warm churros poppers in the mixture until coated.
Notes
- Check the oil temperature before frying.
- Serve the poppers warm for the best taste.
- You can add a chocolate dipping sauce if you like.
- Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
