Description

Churros poppers offer a bite-sized twist on the classic fried dough. You coat these crispy treats in cinnamon sugar for a sweet snack. They are easy to make and fun to eat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Heat the water, butter, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  2. Remove the pan from heat. Stir in the flour and vanilla until a thick dough forms.
  3. Let the dough cool for a few minutes. Transfer it to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep pan to 350 degrees F. Pipe small strips of dough into the hot oil. Use scissors to cut them off.
  5. Fry the poppers until they turn golden brown. Remove them and drain on paper towels.
  6. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the warm churros poppers in the mixture until coated.

Notes

  • Check the oil temperature before frying.
  • Serve the poppers warm for the best taste.
  • You can add a chocolate dipping sauce if you like.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
