Description
A creamy parmesan chicken and orzo dish that combines tender chicken with rich, cheesy orzo for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup orzo
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, and thyme, then cook until golden brown, about 6 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add orzo and stir for 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until orzo is tender, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and parmesan cheese until creamy.
- Return chicken to the skillet and cook for 2 more minutes to heat through.
Notes
- Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor.
- If the sauce thickens too much, add a splash of broth.
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
