Ingredients

- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Layer half the potato slices in a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle half the garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme over the potatoes.
- Pour half the cream over the potatoes.
- Repeat with remaining potatoes, seasonings, and cream.
- Top with cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a mandoline for even potato slices.
- Substitute Gruyère for cheddar for a richer flavor.
- Cover with foil if browning too quickly.
