Ingredients

- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Layer half the potatoes in a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle half the cheese, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg over the potatoes.
- Repeat with remaining potatoes and seasonings.
- Pour cream and milk over the layers.
- Dot with butter.
- Bake for 60 minutes until golden and tender.
Notes
- Use a mandoline for even potato slices.
- Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
