Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheese over the potatoes.
  5. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cheese.
  6. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg.
  7. Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes.
  8. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
