- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Food coloring (optional)
- Sprinkles or icing for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until dough forms.
- Divide dough and add food coloring if desired. Roll out dough and cut into Easter shapes.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool before decorating.
Notes
- Chill dough for 30 minutes if it’s too soft.
- Use cookie cutters for fun Easter shapes like eggs or bunnies.
- Store decorated cookies in an airtight container.
