- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 1 onion, sliced
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Season chuck roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Sear the roast on all sides until browned.
- Place carrots, potatoes, and onions in the crock pot.
- Put the seared roast on top of the vegetables.
- Pour beef broth over the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
- Shred or slice the roast before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
- Use fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for seasoning.
- Let the roast rest for 10 minutes before serving.
