Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Mix flour and salt in a bowl.
- Add cold butter cubes and cut into the flour until crumbly.
- Gradually add cold water and mix until dough forms.
- Roll dough into a rectangle, fold into thirds, and chill for 30 minutes.
- Repeat rolling and folding twice more.
- Cut dough into desired shapes, fill, and bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes.

- Keep ingredients cold for flaky layers.
- Chill dough between folds.
