- 1 pound bow tie pasta
- 1 pound Italian sausage (casings removed)
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 onion (diced)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
