Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
- Divide batter evenly among cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before decorating.
Notes
- For pastel colors, add a few drops of food coloring to the batter.
