  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, and food coloring.
  4. Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk, mixing until combined.
  5. Drop dough by tablespoons onto baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  6. For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  7. Once cookies cool, spread frosting on top.
