- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Mix well.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to the wet mixture until combined.
- Drop dough by spoonfuls onto the baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread frosting on cooled cookies.
