- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary
- 1 sprig fresh thyme
- 1 cup red wine (optional)
- 1 cup mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup steamed asparagus
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Season the beef fillets with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear the fillets for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
- Add butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the pan.
- Baste the fillets with the melted butter for 1 minute.
- Transfer the pan to the oven and cook for 5-7 minutes for medium-rare.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Optional: Deglaze the pan with red wine for a sauce.
- Serve with mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus.
