A tender slow cooker brisket with rich balsamic onion gravy.


Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef brisket
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan and sear the brisket on both sides.
  2. Place onions and garlic in the slow cooker.
  3. Add the seared brisket on top.
  4. Mix beef broth, balsamic vinegar, tomato paste, brown sugar, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the mixture over the brisket.
  6. Cook on low for 8 hours.
  7. Remove brisket and slice.
  8. Blend the onion gravy until smooth.
  9. Serve brisket with gravy.

  • Trim excess fat from brisket before cooking.
  • Use a sharp knife for slicing.
