Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
- Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and sourdough starter.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to the wet ingredients.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Cut out heart shapes with the cookie cutter and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on a wire rack before decorating.
