Ingredients

- 1 cup sushi rice
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 nori sheets
- 1/2 cucumber, julienned
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 4 oz fresh salmon or tuna, sliced
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- Soy sauce, for serving
Instructions
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Cook the rice with water in a rice cooker or pot until tender.
- Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt, then fold into the cooked rice.
- Let the rice cool slightly.
- Place a nori sheet on a bamboo mat.
- Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Arrange cucumber, avocado, and salmon in a heart shape in the center.
- Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat.
- Slice into pieces and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Serve with soy sauce.
