Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp dried lavender flowers
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For frosting: 1 cup white chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. Mix flour, lavender, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Combine milk, lemon juice, zest, and vanilla in another bowl.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and wet mixture to butter mixture.
  6. Pour batter into pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Cool cake completely before frosting.
  8. For frosting, melt white chocolate and mix with cream and powdered sugar.
  9. Spread frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
